AWS Well Architected
Is your AWS infrastructure really secure?
As one of the leading AWS partners in the DACH region, we support our customers in implementing AWS services for a wide range of workloads and use cases.
An important element for a long-term and trustful cooperation is the enablement and knowledge transfer to our customers. One component of our services is the execution of Well-Architected reviews, which play a key role in the development and adoption of our customers' infrastructure. AWS defines more than 6 best practices that can be considered in their entirety or in part for a customer environment.

Well-Architected Framework (WAF)
The Well-Architected Framework (WAF) looks at AWS infrastructures in 6 pillars:
- Operational Excellence: Ensure continuous improvement through effective execution and monitoring of systems.
- Security: Protect data and systems within the AWS infrastructure.
- Reliability: Continuous and error-free operation of workloads and applications in the AWS environment.
- Performance & Efficiency: Optimized provisioning of IT resources for workloads and applications to avoid over- or under-performance.
- Cost optimization: Identify cost savings opportunities and implement FinOps practices.
- Sustainability: Minimize environmental impact by deploying cloud workloads.
Why SVA?
- SVA is a leading AWS partner in the DACH region
- Support for deployment of AWS services for various workloads and use cases
- Focus on enablement and knowledge transfer for long-term collaboration
- WAF reviews for secure and future-proof infrastructures
Our approach
We provide an assessment of your AWS infrastructure using the Well-Architected Framework. We proceed as follows:
We provide an assessment of your AWS infrastructure using the Well-Architected Framework. We proceed as follows:
Pre-Review:
-
Moderated pre-review by one of our cloud architects or system engineers.
-
Joint definition of the infrastructure to be considered (e.g. your entire organization or individual AWS accounts).
-
Initial meeting of approximately 3-5 hours, depending on complexity.
-
Identification of key stakeholders who can represent both technical and business perspectives.
-
Determination of the objectives of the review, specifically relevant aspects and number of pillars to be considered, number of PT for the review.
Review:
-
On-site or remote review, moderated and led by one of our cloud architects in coordination with our system engineers.
-
Assessment of the infrastructure and scope defined in the pre-review.
-
Assessment of the infrastructure and Q&A session.
-
Initial assessment of optimization potential.
Post-Review:
-
Detailed list of measures to implement the identified optimizations.
-
Clustering of measures into short-, medium- and long-term measures with time planning.
-
Consideration of funding opportunities through AWS.
Effective Well-Architected Review
Many customers have already started to engage with AWS and migrated workloads. However, as traffic, data volumes, and more critical workloads increase in the AWS environment, questions about performance, operations, security, and resiliency arise. Due to the complexity of the AWS infrastructure, our SVA experts can perform a Well-Architected Review to identify potential and vulnerabilities and implement or remediate appropriate actions.
AWS offers partners and customers a system-based tool landscape directly available in AWS to perform a Well-Architected Review. Together with you, we discuss the content, requirements, wishes, etc. to implement the review in the best possible way.
