Vectra has begun a partnership with SVA in July 2020 that will help German companies detect hidden cyberattacks more quickly using artificial intelligence.

SVA System Vertrieb Alexander GmbH, a leading independent specialist for system integration and cybersecurity, has announced a partnership with Vectra, a major provider of AI-based network detection and response technology (NDR). This partnership will allow SVA and its clients to automate the search for cyber-threats, uncover hidden attackers and give security teams more options for responding.

Vectra’s NDR platform Cognito accelerates the detection and investigation of threats. To do so, the platform uses state-of-the-art artificial intelligence to collect, store and enrich security metadata, thereby giving SVA and its clients important context that will help detect, track and investigate both known and unknown threats in real time. Cognito replaces older technology that is incapable of solving today’s challenges in detection and reaction. The technology can be used everywhere, from workloads in cloud environments and data centers to individual user and IoT devices.

“We are delighted to add Vectra to our portfolio and help our clients achieve the greatest possible degree of security,” explains Mark Sobol, SVA’s Head of Business Line IT Security. SVA takes a proactive approach to security, offering a full portfolio of expert consulting, services and solutions that significantly reduce the risk of security incidents while guaranteeing compliance for German companies.

“Our current portfolio includes solutions for greater transparency in endpoints, applications and email security,” explains Sobol. “Vectra ensures even better visibility in the network and the cloud, regardless of the affected device or workload. This makes detecting attackers faster and enables quick and effective reactions.”

Thanks to its many technology alliances, Vectra will quickly slot into the implementations of SVA’s existing clients. AI-supported network detection and response (NDR), endpoint detection and response (EDR), together with security information and event management (SIEM), represent a powerful combination here. They make it possible to prevent attacks early on and quicken the response to more complex threats. “Integrating Vectra’s NDR with SentinelOne EDR and QRadar SIEM allows us to build on what Gartner calls the SOC visibility triad – an effective method for detection, prevention and reaction in real time,” explains Sobol. “German companies need a new approach when it comes to detection, prevention and reaction. Vectra’s method is not based on the signature of known threats, but instead uses advanced behavior-based detection methods supported by AI to identify even unknown threats extremely quickly.”

“Vectra is revolutionizing IT security. We are very happy about the partnership with SVA, an extremely well regarded and independent provider of system cybersecurity. We will combine our expertise and services to help German companies identify threats faster and reduce their business risks,” adds Sandra Hilt, Senior Director Channel Sales, EMEA at Vectra.

About Vectra

Vectra® is a leading provider of tools for detection and reaction in networks, which can be used anywhere from workloads in cloud environments and data centers to individual user and IoT devices. The Cognito® platform accelerates the detection and investigation of threats, using AI to enrich previously collected and stored network metadata with the right context. This makes it possible to detect, track and investigate both known and unknown threats in real time. Vectra offers three applications on the Cognito® platform for processing high-priority applications: Cognito Stream™ sends metadata enriched with security-relevant information to data lakes and SIEMs, Cognito Recall™ is a cloud-based application for storing and investigating threats in enriched metadata, and Cognito Detect™ uses AI to quickly uncover and prioritize hidden and unknown attackers.
