SVA Joins German Association for Digital Sovereignty

Working together for more open standards and open-source software in public procurement and research
OSB Mitglied

SVA has joined the Open Source Business Alliance (OSB Alliance), the German association for digital sovereignty. Together, we will campaign for greater use of open-source software and take part in the collaborative development of the solutions.

We already maintain excellent partnerships with leading developers of open-source and community products that have become established in the market for DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, infrastructure as code and containers. Here, we focus on both the technical quality and business aspects such as service life and support. We are always expanding our expertise, continuously evaluate relevant providers and make our own contribution to developments in major code repositories. Therefore, the collaboration between SVA and the OSB Alliance was a logical step.

Demand for open-source alternatives is growing, with the public sector looking to play a greater role in the ongoing transformation of IT and communication. We help customers evaluate all-round solutions, as well as optimizing, designing, implementing and operating structures. In addition, we pass on our knowledge in practical introductory training sessions for various target groups. One of the most important things here is harmonizing all of the new technologies in this complex area with the current IT environments and existing processes for the long term.

Following the events of the last two years, resilience has become one of the major issues of our age. Open-source software delivers the right solutions here. Government and industry alike have an interest in digitally sovereign ecosystems, potentially including a European cloud solution. That is why SVA is involved in Gaia-X in the German hub and the Public Sector Working Group. The valuable contributions of the OSB Alliance to developing and building the Sovereign Cloud Stack reflect the shared understanding in this regard.

We look forward to collaborating with the German association for digital sovereignty!
